This year’s Sydney Film Festival has announced its first titles, with Ursula Williams’ debut doco feature Marlon Williams: Ngā Ao E Rua – Two Worlds one of two music-focused docos in the line-up. Kevin Macdonald’s One to One: John & Yoko, is the other music doco announced so far.
The Sydney Film Festival has named 16 titles, many of them arriving with awards from international A list festivals, especially Sundance and Berlin.
Two Australian narrative features are named so far: Sophie Somerville’s comedy Fwends, and animated feature Lesbian Space Princess, which took the Berlinale’s Teddy Award earlier this year.
For those with stamina, the festival will also play Exergue – on documenta 14, a 14-hour documentary.
In the films about films genre, the festival has another Aussie title, Kate Blackmore’s Make It Look Real (top image) tracks intimacy coordinator Claire Warden on an Australian film production.
