As it has done in plenty of other territories Backrooms ended its opening weekend in the top spot, playing 72 screens and taking $881,011.
The Mandalorian and Grogu took dropped to #2, playing on 106 screens and adding $529,827 for a total of $1,659,015
At #3, Michael added $491,722 from 99 screens, pushing its gross to $6,018,890.
Caterpillar dropped one spot to #8, taking $38,751 for $244,550.
The Time Travellers Guide to Hamilton Gardens continues to impress, taking $12,189 from 29 screens to grow to a total of $158,438.
Sgt. Haane played 27 screens, earning $8,150, and now has a total of $266,209.
12 weeks into its run, Tenor: My Name is Pati played 25 screens, adding $2,968 for a gross of $1,119,959.
Moss & Freud played a modest 9 screens, taking $1,546 for a total of $9,359.
On 18 screens, The Weed Eaters added $1,265 for $48,509.
Three local titles played a single screen over the weekend. Maurice & I took $1,209; Tinā took $445; and the 10th anniversary of Hunt for the Wilderpeople added $414.
Holy Days took $10 from 3 screens, for a gross of $582,489.
Openers this week include Travis Knight’s Masters of the Universe, with Nicholas Galitzine and a strong supporting cast, and Steven Soderbergh’s The Christophers, with a cast led by Ian McKellen.
