Warren Harrison (Maaka Pohatu) might be an “ordinary human from Lower Hutt”, but the Taken-obsessed father of 18-year-old Lucy (Louise Jiang) finds himself and his daughter in mortal peril early on in the opening episode of the new six-part Kiwi sci-fi comedy Warren’s Vortex (which debuts on TVNZ 2 on Sunday, August 24 at 7pm).
That interdimensional portal that opened in his garden shed almost two decades ago? He’s finally been forced to use it for something other than dumping lawn clippings in, after Lucy is sucked through the gateway into an alternate reality.
