In the last year the Avatar franchise has spent more than $125 million, most of it in Wellington.
On Saturday, Courtenay Pl will host stars and adoring public for the Australasian opening of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third movie in the series.
It will shut down parts of Wellington which is getting a glow up for the premiere.
But behind the red carpet, the stars and the hype is a flow-on effect that is giving a boost to Wellington’s gaming and tech industry as well as bringing more and more students and creatives to the capital city.
