Zootopia 2 hung on to the top spot on its second weekend, adding $548,657 to take its gross to $1,715,149.
Five Nights at Freddys 2 opened on 82 screens, took $413,877, and settled in to the #2 spot.
Wicked: For Good stepped down to the #3 spot, adding $285,576 to pass the $3 million mark and rack up a total take of $3,051,014.
Pike River left the top ten to place at #12 on the weekend, continuing its run on 90 screens. Its weekend earnings of $21,222 lifted its total to $1,370,209.
Prime Minister earned another $2,452 to take its total to $1,056,576.
Grace: A Prayer for Peace added $106 for a total of $43,684.
Four loal titles played on a single screen over the weekend. The year’s best local performer, Tinā, reappeared to add $207 to its take of over $6.48million; while indie The Tavern took $165 to lift its total to $26,566.
Lee Tamahori’s last two features, The Convert and Mahana, also played single screens.
This week’s new arrivals will include Disney dramedy Ella McCay and horror Silent Night, Deadly Night.
