There’s still no getting past Tinā, which comfortably held off the two new arrivals rounding out the weekend’s top three. On 125 screens, it took $376,721 to total $4,067,543 – and take the #6 spot on the all-time list of NZ films at the box office.
New arrival L2: Empuraan – part two of a trilogy, and currently the subject of some controversy on home turf – opened in the #2 spot, earning $280,193 from 35 screens.
At #3 was another new arrival, Jason Statham vehicle A Working Man, which took $257,758.
James Ashcroft’s The Rule of Jenny Pen dropped to #20, adding $7,704 from 37 screens, for a total take of $39,228.
Almost done now, Moana 2 added $810, and has now earned $10,190,768.
Maurice & I took $550 from a single screen, to total $352,871. The Haka Party Incident took $105, and has now earned $112,867.
