In the final weekend report for ‘25, Avatar: Fire and Ash held the top spot very comfortably. Playing on 113 screens, it added $1,464,568 for a total take so far of $5,410,409.
New arrivals took the remaining podium spots, with The Housemaid ending the weekend at #2, having taken $281,711 from 97 screens.
At #3, Anaconda played on 91 screens, and took $274,902.
Not Only Fred Dagg placed at #9 on its opening weekend, taking $54,524 from 42 screens for a gross of $84,158 including previews.
Pike River played 22 screens, adding $3,353 for a total of $1,408,526.
Prime Minister played 6 screens, earned $2,696 and lifted its total take to $1,076,895.
Titles opening on New Year’s Day are thin on the ground, but include Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in Song Sung Blue, the tale of a Neil Diamond tribute band.
