The only change to the top three over last weekend was the size of their takes, with none shifting position.
It Ends with Us again held the top spot, taking $398,091 off 109 screens for a total of $2,683,197.
Coming a close second, Deadpool & Wolverine added $381,060 from 106 screens, with its total take now $7,525,196.
Alien: Romulus remained at #3, playing 101 screens and taking $286,014. It’s closing on $1M with its total now $915,864.
Fresh from the NZIFF and opening at #4 on 81 screens last Thursday, We Were Dangerous took $130,964, with previews lifting its total to $170,450.
At #9, Ant Timpson’s Bookworm continued on 99 screens, adding $64,304 for a total of $319,849. The film opens in Australia this week.
Heading towards the exit, Ka Whawhai Tonu – Struggle Without End added $2,008 from 9 screens to grow its total take to $865,597.
Opening here this week are Rupert Sanders’ reimagining of 1994 title The Crow and the re-release for another 1994 title The Lion King.
