NZ Box Office Report: 22 February 2026

Wuthering Heights held on to the top spot in its second weekend, adding $433,546 from 113 screens to gross $1,411,805.

Two new arrivals took the other podium positions. GOAT played on 94 screens, earning $198,549 on the weekend for $231,483 including previews, to place second.

Fackham Hall, featuring Thomasin McKenzie, opened in third place, ending Sunday with $172,920 in earnings from 94 screens.

Avatar: Fire and Ash dropped from #4 to #6, playing 50 screens and adding $42,312 for a gross of $11,449,690.

Taratoa Stappard’s Mārama stayed on 58 screens and in the top 10, placing at #9 at the end of the weekend, having added $35,725 for $146,244.

Anchor Me: The Don McGlashan Story closed the weekend at #34, adding $1,511 from 11 screens, for a gross to date of $147,282. On 15 screens, Not Only Fred Dagg earned $1,105 to place at #40 and grow its gross to $457,711.

Arrivals this week include the third local release of the year, Nathalie Boltt’s 1970s-set dramedy Holy Days, with a cast including veteran actresses Judy Davis, Miriam Margolyes and Jacki Weaver, all sowing they’ve still got the chops that made them famous; and Mona Fastvold’s The Testament of Ann Lee, featuring Amanda Seyfried in the title role, and Thomasin McKenzie as the story’s narrator.
