Easter weekend lifted a few films’ earnings compared with their previous weekend’s. A Minecraft Movie hung on to the top spot with ease, growing both the number of screens it played on and dollars it took against the previous weekend. It took $1,484,659 from 126 screens, and has now grossed $7,107,887.
Two new arrivals took the other podium positions. At #2, Dog Man played 107 screens to take $276,993 and lift its total earnings to $740,839.
The Amateur held steady at #3, playing 99 screens and taking $249,356 for a gross of $569,093.
Also holding steady was Tinā, still at #4. On 102 screens, it took $244,536 to take its total to $5,230,679.
The Rule of Jenny Pen remained on 7 screens, its $620 take pushing it to $48,026. It seems increasingly unlikely it’ll pass $50K.
Project Fiftyone added $525 from 5 screens for a total of $9,122; and Maurice & I took $396 from 2 screens for a total of $355,484.
This week’s crop of new arrivals includes action drama The Accountant 2, with Ben Affleck, and the latest in a long line of remastered concert films, Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII, made over a year before the release of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, and which is only technically speaking a concert as there was no audience.
