NZ Box Office Report: 16 November 2025

On a very round 100 screens, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t took $309,390 on its opening weekend to top the chart.

Sandwiched into the second spot by two new arrivals in the top three, Predator: Badlands continued on 87 screens, its second weekend take of $209,472 lifting its total earnings so far to $713,439.

The Running Man, about which we’ve heard nothing good from anyone familiar with the original, played 96 screens on its first weekend, taking $175,380 for a total of $190,778.

Local champ Pike River was pushed off the podium to #4. From 117 screens, it added $149,642. That take took it past $1 million, to $1,076,300.

Prime Minister also had enough legs to pass $1 million from its general release. It took $14,121 from 49 screens, for $1,020,093.

Aussie family flick Kangaroo took $4,588 to push itself just over $650,000.
Five other local titles played over the weekend, on a combined 10 screens.

On 4, Grace: A Prayer for Peace took $433 for a total of $42,108.

Completing its Terror-Fi premieres, Deathgasm II: Goremageddon took $346 from a single screen for $1,426.

James Cleary’s What Lies Between added $340 from a pair of screens for $4,247.

Also on 2 screens, Workmates took $294 to lift its total to $27,097.

Life in One Chord played a single screen, taking $105, and has now grossed $90,253.

Christmas is coming, sort of, in the form of fantasy horror The Carpenter’s Son, and the more fam-friendly Wicked: The Good, both of which open this week.
