Tinā continued to hit the high notes with another strong weekend. Still on 127 screens, it added a further $588,858 to lift its gross to $2,829,326 and should comfortably pass the $3 million mark later this week.
Also holding steady was Mickey 17 at #2. It added $179,805 off 103 screens over the weekend for a take that now totals $593,214.
New arrival Black Bag took the remaining podium position, earning $132,489 from 98 screens on its opening weekend.
At #6, Chinese animation Ne Zha 2 has now taken $1,628,336 here and, back home, become China’s highest-ever box office earner.
Moana 2 continued on 33 screens, adding $7,825 for a gross of $10,192,399.
Down in the lower reaches of the chart, Maurice & I now has $353,126; The Haka Party Incident has $112,368; and Alien Weaponry: Kua Tupu Te Ara has taken $5,906.
This week’s new releases include the arrival of James Ashcroft’s The Rule of Jenny Pen, and Disney’s Snow White, which is picking up plenty of hate for getting everything wrong in the age of DEI … including the decision to remake the film at all.
Thanks, as always, to Numero for providing the data that powers our box office reporting.
