The song remained the same over the closing weekend of the school holidays, with no movement in the top three titles from the previous weekend.
PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie added $251,487 from 108 screens to remain #1 and pass $1.25 million.
At #2, The Creator played 106 screens, taking $224,907 to grow its gross to $744,106.
At #3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem played 96 screens, taking $201,882 to extend its total take $1,357,137.
NZ title Uproar opened at #4. It played 108 screens and took $201,305 which – given the high praise being thrown at it in reviews and interviews – looks like a decent start, and not far behind what the year’s best-performing NZ title so far – Red, White & Brass – took off its opening weekend.
Other new arrivals in the top 10 were The Exorcist: Believer and EXPEND4BLES, while Barbie departed the top 10, its gross takings here having reached $14,422,902.
Among the local titles on release, River of Freedom continued on 24 screens, its total now $299,224. In its second week, Stylebender added $17,891 to gross $103,717. Pacific Mother played a single screen, taking $205.
