Barbie and Oppenheimer continued their runs atop the local box office chart last weekend.
On 123 screens, Barbie added $1,690,966 to pass the $10 million mark at the NZ box office, and US$1 billion at the global box office.
Still at #2, Oppenheimer took $835,615 from 120 screens, to lift its gross to $4,391,503.
Meg 2: The Trench ended its opening weekend in third spot, playing 83 screens and taking $543,473 to total $558,832 including previews.
Rackaracka’s Aussie horror Talk to Me continued, adding $69,667 to gross just over $240K.
Other new arrivals, opening in the top 10, were The Miracle Club ($123,749 from 93 screens) and Never Say Never ($19,678 from 11).
At Coco Reo Maori picked up $7,792 from 15 screens to total $222,410; and Red, White & Brass added $286 from a single screen to lift its gross to $1,463,378.
