New arrival The Fall Guy topped the weekend chart, opening on 114 screens and taking $589,879. Including previews, the Ryan Gosling-Emily Blunt romp has grossed $698,277.
Continuing to benefit from the final weekend of the school holidays, Kung Fu Panda 4 dropped to #2. It played 110 screens, adding $527,715 to lift its total take to $3,858,933.
At #3, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire took $287,789 off 86 screens, for a gross of $3,700,179.
Of the two local titles on release, Rachel House’s The Mountain held steady at #8, down to 88 screens but taking $60,909. It’s now grossed $668,305.
The Convert dropped five spots to #25, taking $6,141 from 23 screens, for a total of $557,677.
May sees two local titles open, the first of them – Loren Taylor’s ensemble piece The Moon Is Upside Down – this week.
Also arriving this week is Sam Fifty Shades Taylor-Johnson’s Amy Winehouse music biopic Back to Black, and on May the Fourth (Be With You) a 4K re-release of the Star Wars Original Trilogy: (Episodes IV, V & VI).
