The top five titles on the weekend’s chart all retained their positions from the previous weekend.
For the first time, Barbie’s weekend take fell to below $1million, as it took $725,259 from 122 screens. It remained the most popular film on release, not only by takings but also by per-screen earnings – although fifth-placed Gadar 2, busy breaking records on home turf in India, was the next-best per screen earner over the weekend here. Barbie’s total take is now $12,747,439.
At #2, Oppenheimer added $479415 from 109 screens, to extend its gross to $5,831,773.
Again in third place and performing very well internationally, Meg 2: The Trench played 86 screens, taking $234,154 to lift its total take here to $1,317,000.
Only one new title arrived in the top ten, Strays, which opened in the #7 spot.
Coco Reo Maori played 3 screens, taking $3,476 to lift its gross to $237,418.
