- Sky has announced multi-platform coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which open next month.
As the exclusive New Zealand broadcaster, Sky will bring fans closer to the action than ever before, with extensive live and on-demand coverage across Sky Sport, Sky Sport Now, Sky Go, and free-to-air via Three and ThreeNow.
At the heart of Sky’s coverage will be a dedicated “Gold Channel” on Sky Sport 4, showcasing the biggest moments from Glasgow each night.
Broadcasting live from 7:30pm to 11am, the Gold Channel will feature key events, replays, highlights, and live crosses to Scotland, supported by a hosted show from Sky Sport’s studio.
Sky will have three additional dedicated Commonwealth Games channels, taking the total live offering to up to nine Sky Sport channels during peak competition windows, with coverage running live overnight.
From 11am each day, Sky Sport channels will transition into replays and highlights, ensuring audiences can relive every key moment.
Three and ThreeNow will become the free-to-air destination for Commonwealth Games coverage throughout the event, including a daily simulcast of the Gold Channel from 7pm through to 6pm the following day.
The schedule will include ThreeNews at 6pm followed by a nightly edition of Crowd Goes Wild at 7pm, before live coverage begins each evening.
Digital platforms will play a central role, with Sky Sport Now delivering comprehensive on-demand coverage including 24-hour catch-up, a daily preview show, key highlights and replays, plus short-form clips, athlete reaction, and feature content from Sky’s production teams in Glasgow.
Further increasing the reach of the Commonwealth Games, Sky has partnered with Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited, to bring coverage of the Games to the Pacific. Coverage will be available to Pasifika TV’s affiliated broadcasters across several Pacific countries.
With support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), Sky will welcome Pacific editors, producer and a journalist to train alongside the Sky team, while gathering stories and producing daily highlights focused on Pacific athletes competing in Glasgow.
