New Zealand’s studio sector has suffered another casualty with Wellington-based Lane Street Studios put up for sale after three years of operation.
The Lane Street Studios facility opened officially in November 2022 following three years of feasibility studies and the support of private investors including The Evans Family Trust. At the time of launch, the studio facility was valued at NZ$50m (US$28m).
The multi-million-dollar studio facility had secured a raft of local and international productions including 2024’s US feature Wolf Man from Blumhouse Productions, which was directed and written by Australian Leigh Wannell and starred Julia Garner.
