Mark your calendars! Pax Assadi is BACK — fresh off a strong showing last year, he’s confirmed as host for the 2025 New Zealand Screen Awards. The big night takes place on 21 November 2025 at the Viaduct Events Centre in Tāmaki Makaurau.
The 2025 awards have been reimagined, now officially the New Zealand Screen Awards (NZSA) and expanding beyond television to include film, streaming, digital, and all manner of screen content. The aim is to better reflect the full breadth of the country’s screen industries and how content is made and viewed.
Here are just a few of the many categories to be awarded:
- Best Drama Series (NZ On Air)
- Best Feature Film (NZ Film Commission)
- Best Comedy Programme
- Best Documentary (Series & Feature)
- Best Māori Programme & Best Reo Māori Programme
- Best Pasifika Programme
- Best Director in various categories (Drama, Documentary, Feature)
- Best Actor & Actress across Series & Features
With Pax returning as host and the awards’ scope significantly broadened, this awards night will be a must for catching up with old friends as well as making new ones.
