NZ Box Office report: 18 May 2025

Final Destination Bloodlines opened on 78 screens, and finished the weekend on top with $311,977.

Still on 103 screens, Thunderbolts* dropped into second place, adding $232,086 to lift its total to $1,848,021.

Another new arrival, The Salt Path played 83 screens, taking $167,772 for $372,454 including previews. 

At #5, A Minecraft Movie played 96 screens, adding $107,022 to end the weekend with gross takings of $9,875,520. 

On 87 screens, Tinā dropped out of the top three to end the weekend at #6. It took $57,608 over the weekend and has now grossed $6,208,275.

Marlon Williams: Ngā Ao E Rua – Two Worlds played 42 screens, added $13,807 for a total of $170,457.

The two recently-released independent local titles continued their runs. The People We Love added $3,479 for $27,405; while Forgive Us All took $1,815 for $14,349.

Moana 2 took $700 from a single screen, and has $10,192,250 in total. 

Maurice & I added $238 and Ever The Land $176.

The Rule of Jenny Pen played 2 screens, took $84 and has a gross take of $48,610.

Opening this week are Disney’s latest live action remake of an animated title, Lilo & Stitch, and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
