Tinā continued its time at the top over the weekend, dropping a couple of screens from its opening weekend but earning more. On 127 screens, Miki Magasiva’s feature added $658,355 and had grossed $1,992,289, before passing the $2 million mark on Monday.
The number one film in many markets over the weekend, Mickey 17, had to settle for second place here. On 99 screens, it took $333,212.
At #3, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy took $205,386 from 111 screens, and now has a total of $2,453,912.
The big winner at the Oscars last week, Anora, got a significant boost here from its big night in LA. The film climbed from the previous weekend’s #22 to #6, and added $38,152 to lift its total take here to $255,874.
Also getting a bump over the weekend was Moana 2, up 11 spots to #20. It took $8,015 for a gross of $10,187,264.
The Haka Party Incident added $330, for $112,172; Alien Weaponry: Kua Tupu Te Ara added $24 for $5,846; and Stranded Pearl added $19 for $17,373.
Of this week’s new releases, Steven Soderbergh’s thriller Black Bag has the highest profile, with a cast including Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Naomie Harris and Pierce Brosnan.
