James Cameron calls for more investment in Wellington’s film industry, criticises ‘nightmare’ parking

Acclaimed film director James Cameron says investment and innovation, especially in the film sector, is the key to Wellington’s future.

Cameron spoke at Vision for Wellington’s inaugural public event on Wednesday night, saying the capital’s film sector sets it apart from other cities in New Zealand – but needs more financial support from the Government.

Vision for Wellington launched last year. Its website describes the group as politically neutral and concerned about the city and its residents, who it says are experiencing a “crisis of confidence”.
