What You’ll Do:
- Commissioning Leadership and Planning: The Kaitiaki of the commissioning for outcomes framework – lead the development and implementation of content commissioning strategies, leveraging data-driven insights and collaboration across teams to deliver high quality, audience-focused content that fosters engagement and strengthens production and funder partnerships.
- Commissioning: Lead the commissioning team to develop high-impact, original content aligned with strategic objectives, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation, collaboration with creative professionals and the delivery of culturally authentic, audience-focused content across platforms.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire the Content team, fostering a culture of collaboration, clear communication, continuous development and high performance.
- Quality Management: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, audience focused content by assessing projects for creative and strategic alignment, guiding production teams, implementing quality control processes, and monitoring audience preferences to maintain brand integrity and multi-platform adaptability.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build, nurture, and sustain strong relationships with production companies, funding bodies and creative talent to drive successful and impactful content creation.
- Financial Management: Oversee the commissioning budget and related license fees, ensuring efficient resource allocation, accurate financial planning and reporting, cost-effectiveness while identifying opportunities for savings and mitigating financial risks.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in media production, programming or commissioning.
- Experience leading a team mentoring and coaching staff in content or similar field.
- Strong track record of commissioning high quality content.
- An understanding of te ao Māori and a passion for integrating Māori cultural values into everything you do.
- Fluency in te reo Māori, or a strong commitment to learning, is highly desirable.
