NEP New Zealand is currently looking for an OB Senior Audio Engineer.  This position works within our Engineering team based at both our Mt Wellington OB base, and our Parnell hub/studio facility.  It may also involve work on outside broadcasts around New Zealand as required.

The Position

The OB Senior Audio Engineer will provide expert audio mixing, design and preparation in live Outside Broadcast (“OB”), Hub and Studio/Playout environments; as well as training, system configuration and supervisory support.

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Perform at any level within the broadcast audio infrastructure, including live studio mixing and outside broadcast mixing.
  • Effectively design, plan and implement, audio configurations for events, shows, outside broadcasts and studio productions.
  • Contribute to the interfacing of audio into the greater environment at NEP; at a technical system level and well as with staffing, workflows and workload levels.
  • Provide expert creative input into productions with respect to audio mix, content and quality.
  • Work closely and cordially with all clients and colleagues to produce the best possible results.

Required skills and attributes:

  • Extensive and broad experience with television productions.
  • Full knowledge of broadcast audio concepts and implementation.
  • Proven expert audio mixing experience in the studio and outside broadcast environments.
  • Proven ability to produce audio that meets technical standards and is suitable for the intended purpose, both technically and creatively.
  • Demonstrated team player within the broadcast industry over a minimum of five (5) years.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/oral).
  • Well organised and pays attention to detail.
  • Solution orientated approach to problems.
