In 1995, Costa Botes and Peter Jackson played a brilliant practical joke on us all.
New Zealand in 1995 was a very different place. Jim Bolger was the prime minister, while Helen Clark and a sprightly 50-year-old Winston Peters sat on the Opposition benches. A great Springboks team and a few dodgy chicken burgers had dumped the All Blacks out of the World Cup. And Supergroove, The Mutton Birds, Head Like a Hole, Dave Dobbyn and Shona Laing were all contenders for album of the year.
