At the halfway mark in the school holidays, Harrison Ford’s latet outing retained the top spot as the podium positions remained unchanged from the previous weekend. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny played on 123 screens, adding $707,688 to grow its total take to $2,215,390.
Despite poor to average reviews, second-placed Elemental played 113 screens, taking $574,074 to gross $1,897,784.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, never a franchise that’s relied on reviews to do business, played 87 screens, adding $440,863 to gross $2,426,991 and remain the third best earner.
Outside of the top three, two titles opened in the top ten. At #5, Insidious: The Red Door played 53 screens, adding $276,314 to total $285,628. At #8, the R16-rated Joy Ride played 84 screens, taking $78,373 to total $86,556.
The only local title appearing on the chart, Red, White & Brass, was in its 16th week. It played 7 screens, taking $1,188 to total $1,439,078.
