On 111 screens, Dune: Part Two continued to hold the top spot last weekend, adding $439,845 to its coffers to gross $5,048,836.
Two new arrivals claimed the other podium spots. At #2, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire opened on 101 screens, taking $393,565.
Olivia Colman-starring swear-fest Wicked Little Letters took third place, taking $229,399 off 97 screens for a total $369,279 including previews.
The new arrivals pushed The Convert out of the top three on its second weekend, to #4. Lee Tamahori’s drama added $98,794 to push its take to $317,892. On its performance so far, The Convert looks likely to pass $500K, but unlikely to reach $1 million.
Annie Goldson’s Red Mole: A Romance added $1,101 to get one ticket sale away from $10K, having now taken $9,993.
Madame Web continued fall faster than a door from a Boeing, its weekend take of $914 lifting its gross to $580,829. even though it’s only March, the film’s ROI is setting the pace as the year’s worst for a major Hollywood title.
Robert Connolly’s Force of Nature: The Dry 2 added $160 ro total $294,102.
A few British films are on the chart for the weekend, with The Great Escaper, The Zone of Interest, Wonka, Poor Things and How to Have Sex all enjoying theatrical release here at the moment.
Opening this week are Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Rachel House’s Taranaki-set The Mountain, and Matteo Garrone’s Io Capitano.
