The first weekend chart of 2024 saw the top two titles from the final weekend of 2023 hold on to their placings. Four titles made their debut in the top ten, between them pushing out Next Goal Wins.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom added $547,937 from 105 screens, to stay afloat at #1 and take its gross past $2.5 million to $2,607,439. At #2, Wonka remains the highest overall earner on the chart, with the weekend take of $509,275 lifting its earnings to $4,470,479.
Climbing two places from last weekend to take the #3 spot, Anyone But You (above) took $243,242 and has now grossed $705,156.
Ferrari, Night Swim, Poor Things and The Boys in the Boat all opened in the lower half of the top ten. Their fortunes pretty much mirrored the number of screens they played on, with Ferrari (on 105) out in front.
Next Goal Wins closed the weekend at #11, on 58 screens and earning $64,477. It’s now scored $1,240,165.
Both on single screens, two local titles played for a few dollars more. Ms. Information has now grossed $81,578, and Loop Track $72,680.
