DESCRIPTION:Queenstown Writers Festival invites you to apply for a three-hour screenwriting workshop with acclaimed filmmaker and writer Dame Gaylene Preston. \nDame Gaylene is a leading light of New Zealand cinema. She is both director and screenwriter of Ruby and Rata and Bread and Roses\, and the director of the documentaries War Stories Our Mothers Never Told Us and My Year with Helen. She is deeply committed to telling New Zealand stories for New Zealand audiences – and equally dedicated to helping upcoming filmmakers realise their own vision. \nThis interactive workshop will investigate the space between the page and the screen and help you translate the idea in your head into a pitch-worthy document. Established and aspiring filmmakers in all genres are welcome\, from documentary to drama and everything in between.
