SUMMARY:The Relationship Between Cinematographer & Colourist
DESCRIPTION:Colourists contribute to the feel and mood of a film or series by helping to define its look. Working with the Director and Director of Photography\, they tune in a palette and tone; whether the look is contrasty and warm or cooler in the shadows\, there’s lots of magic that happens in the grading suite which lends itself to the story. But how do Cinematographers work with Colourists? \nWith no hard and fast rules about how to get from A to B\, and with these unique types of collaborations usually happening in dark grading suites behind closed doors\, how does it all happen? And how do you best tackle a grade? \nJoin us at Images & Sound for a panel discussion where we’ll hear from experienced guests about how this specialised relationship works. Panellists include Colourists Alana Cotton and Paul Lear and Cinematographers David Cameron NZCS ACS and Tammy Williams. \nJoin us from 6:30 PM for pizza and refreshments with the event kicking off at 7:00 PM\, to better understand the dynamics and evolution of the grading process\, as well as the intricate relationships formed. \nSeats are limited so be quick to register for this event.\nFree for NZCS Members. Non-members $40. \nNOTE: Student membership is $46\, so if you’re a student interested in coming along\, why not become a member for an extra $6 and get entry to this event as well as free entry to our other events throughout the year.

SUMMARY:How to Become a Script Supervisor
DESCRIPTION:I’m Jennifer Carriere and in the last 15 years I have script supervised literally hundreds of episodes of network television and dozens of films. I created\, out of sheer necessity\, the most efficient\, fail-proof script supervising system possible. This enabled me to work far more shows per year than is standard (or even conceivable). Being an outstanding script supervisor led me directly to becoming a high-volume tv associate producer. Now I apply the same efficiency and focus to educating about the powerful\, misunderstood role of the script supervisor\, and training and mentoring future script supervisors straight into their own impactful film careers\, in record time.
